Who runs Rochester Senior Advisor?
Rochester Senior Advisor is an independent, privately owned senior care referral service for Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Livingston and Orleans counties; we are not part of the Department of Health, any county Office for the Aging, Lifespan or any residence, and we neither own nor manage care facilities.
This website is the reference half of what we do. It explains New York's licensing categories, the payment programs families actually use, and the state's own records for every licensed residence and nursing home in the five counties, each figure tied to the agency that published it. The personal half is a phone call or message with an advisor such as Lisa, who learns what your parent needs, where the family lives and what the budget allows, then suggests residences or services worth a visit.
How does Rochester Senior Advisor earn money?
When a family we introduced moves into a participating residence, that residence pays us a placement fee; the family is never billed for our help at any stage.
We say this plainly because the arrangement could shade a recommendation toward participating residences. Two things check that pull. First, our directory shows every licensed adult home, enriched housing program and nursing home in the five counties from state data, with no way for an operator to buy a better position. Second, every suggestion an advisor makes should come with reasons you can check on NYS Health Profiles or Care Compare yourself. Ask for those reasons, and expect to get them.
What will you find in the directory, and what will you not?
You will find each licensed residence's certified capacity, ALR, EALR, SNALR and Assisted Living Program beds, inspection reports and enforcement actions from New York's records, every nursing home's CMS ratings and staffing, and the state's roster of home care agencies, hospices and adult day health programs.
You will not find star ratings we made up, testimonials, review scores, paid listings or copy from operators' brochures. Where a figure families want simply does not exist in any public source, such as a Rochester memory care price, the page tells you so instead of filling the gap with a guess.
How do I reach Rochester Senior Advisor?
Call (585) 496-2666, email advisors@rochestersenioradvisor.com, or use the five-question care match on any page and an advisor will follow up; operators who believe their state data is displayed incorrectly can write to the same address.
We are not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, call 911. Suspected abuse or neglect of an older adult living at home in Monroe County goes to Adult Protective Services at (585) 753-6532; other counties' numbers are on our complaints page.
Which part of the Rochester area does Rochester Senior Advisor serve?
The City of Rochester and every town in Monroe County, plus Ontario, Wayne, Livingston and Orleans counties, the core of the area served by Lifespan's long-term care ombudsman program (which also covers Genesee, Seneca, Wyoming and Yates).
Facilities in neighboring counties outside our five are licensed under the same New York rules, and an advisor can discuss them, but they are not in our directory.
